Science has already demonstrated the link between periodontal disease and many disease states, such as diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. The increase in medical research information released to the public has resulted in an increase in patients deciding to stay abreast of their dental health and eliminate periodontal problems. Dental professionals must know how to code correctly for their practice to truly see the benefit of all the new business being sent their way.
