With the recently released Round 1 bid amounts scheduled to be implemented in 2011 and the Round 2 bid window set to open next spring, Competitive Bidding is moving full speed with almost no signs of stopping. The new Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) includes provisions to expand Round 2 of the Competitive Bidding program to an additional 21 Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) and requires all products subject to bidding under the existing program to be provided at bid prices nationwide by 2016.
