    The PCNLA is an association of investors. The PCNLA is comprised of past and current business leaders, venture capitalists and investment bankers from Southern California who are SEC Accredited Investors. We invest in all stages of companies for all sectors of the economy. Our objective is to help talented entrepreneurs build lasting businesses of significant value and to participate as active investors.   • Chief Software Architect, Wireless Consulant 2001 – 2002
    • CTIA - Interoperability committee. Defining policies, identifying standards and implementing practices that will support the exchange of authentication, authorization and accounting data between wireless carriers and content providers. • CTIA – Security and Privacy committee. Defining policies, implementing practices, and recommending standards to insure security and privacy concerns are addressed. • Created, Architected and Implemented the Pocket PC 2002, Strong Arm version of JetCat Software, a travelers toolkit. Created and implemented a XML/XSL Web-Based User Interface which displays database data. Recommended backend database improvements to insure data integrity and accuracy. Architected and Designed Phone Dialing Capabilities. • Technical evaluation and recommendations for USB Video Capture Software.

  • Director of Engineering, Thinque Systems, Inc. 2000 – 2001
    Reported to the Vice President of Engineering, managing an operating budget of $2.5 million dollars. Led a 13-member cross-functional team consisting of Development, Documentation, Quality Assurance and Configuration Management for the MSP (Mobile Solutions Platform) product lines. • Architected wireless/wired communications/synchronization module for the Field Data Module (FDM) which collects and report field data; and Field Sales Module (FSM), facilitating retailers in route accounting, pre-sales and van sales. • Acted as Project Manager for the FSM Joint Development Project with a Multi-Billion Dollar Beverage Company providing revenue for the company of $400,000 and helped increase company sales. • Increased company profitability by creating and implementing a customer requirements gathering process that allowed Professional Services to scope and price all customer enhancement requests.

  • Software Development Manager, Enterworks, Inc. 1999 – 2000
    Reported to the Vice President of Engineering. Managed an operating budget of $5 million dollars. Led a geographically distributed development team of 17 for the ECI 3.X product. Worked with cross-functional teams (Quality Assurance, Documentation, Professional Services, and Product Management) to insure the highest quality product. Supervised 4 simultaneous multi-platform product cycles in one-year, on time, the first time in company history. • Member of Architecture Committee responsible for architecture and design approvals. • Provided several product enhancements to preserve a $2 million dollar customer account. • Improved company processes by streamlining the requirements process between product management and product development; creating product release requirements; automating all builds for all deployment platforms; implementing code reviews; establishing communications guidelines for the Virtual team; improving the Network Infrastructure.

  • Various IT positions in Software Development and Management, RAND, Network Associates, Inc., Platinum Solutions, St. Jude Medical, Xerox, US Robotics, Inc., Information International, Inc. 1989 – 1999
    • Network Associates: Lead a three member team which increased company profitability by integrating WebShield for Firewalls with Gauntlet Firewall into one single packaged unit. Recipient of Company Award for creating the User Interface and UDP Plug proxy securing a multi-billion dollar software customer. • US Robotics: Managed and enhanced the foreground communications software enabling users to configure the Worldport Modem, which became the Sportster Modem.

Barbara Bickham is the Founder and President of TechGenii, Inc. For the past 6 years, TechGenii has helped various creative professionals, investors and companies creating and using digital strategies, doing business development, packaging businesses for investment, and doing technology assessments and evaluations.

She has 20+ years of experience in the computer software industry in strategic, management and architectural roles. She has spent the past 8 years in interactive and digital strategy, management, wireless architecture and implementation.

Before founding TechGenii, Inc., Ms. Bickham was the Director of Engineering for Thinque Systems, where she was responsible for the strategic and architectural direction for the wireless product line and new technology initiatives.  Ms. Bickham has worked for RAND, Network Associates, St. Jude Medical, Xerox, and US. Robotics.

She is community oriented and involved on several boards and advisory boards throughout her career. She is on the Community Advisory Board for KCET Los Angeles and the Advisory Board of the MIND Institute. Ms. Bickham was a founding Board Member of the Mobile Development Association; was a Board Member for the American Women in Radio & Television, Southern California. She was an Interactive Television Alliance Executive Committee Member; Advisory Board Member for VNU’s DEMXPO 2005 and Continental Vista.

She takes part in the following industry groups: Academy of Television Arts and Sciences; Cable and Television Marketing Association; CTIA Wireless Internet Caucus and the IEEE.

She has moderated KCET’s “Sid the Science Kid” Panel, and was Featured Speaker at the SCBA/PIRATES Public Service Media Workshop, a speaker and panel participant at the MIDAS Conference. She recently appeared on ESPN 710 Sports Radio and the fuzionZone Radio, speaking on Technology and Digital Strategy. She recently finished her Digital Strategy Primer 101 Virtual Class.
